If the Examiner Sees His Own Shadow - Does Your Exam Take Six Weeks Longer?

🌴☀️ Groundhog Day: Hollywood, Florida Edition! ☀️🌴

What a way to kick off GroundHogsDay—on the beach at sunrise, surrounded by palm trees, ocean waves, and maybe a hint of concern dread about whether Punxsutawney Phil can keep winter away.

As I watched the festivities, I couldn’t help but draw a parallel for credit unions:

If the  NCUA examiner steps into your credit union and sees their shadow, does that mean your exam stretches six more weeks? 🧐

Or maybe, just like Phil, they’re predicting the outlook for your delinquency ratio or Enterprise Risk Management program.

Whether you’re diving into “icy” waters or diving into call reports, this day reminds us that some traditions are meant to be celebrated, laughed about, and shared.

Here’s to blue skies, warm sunshine, and no shadows (from groundhogs OR examiners)!
